Four weeks into January, time does go by too fast. I ended 2024 dreaming of all the possibilities my life could be as I step into the New Year. I made a vision board that I desperately want to come to life. I have a dream that I desperately want to head towards. But the last three weeks have been nothing less than chaotic. As soon as this started, work and other priorities slapped me right in the face. Before I could make time for myself amidst the chaos, my body forced me to stop.
We often forget the rest is a part of living until it’s too late.
The world teaches us to run, but it doesn’t teach us to pause.
As I sit in my bed, exhausted, slowly recharging, my mind is full of thoughts..
Mindless scrolling is the best way to get your mind off your problems. But it does not eliminate the issue from the roots. Rather than making it a part of your routine, let it be a luxury.
Let it be a luxury you rarely need to experience because there are far more beautiful things to see in the world.
Someone is craving the life you have as you crave someone else’s. The grass always looks greener on the other side, but this is because you are hardly spending any time watering your own garden. No one can trade all aspects of their life with someone else’s. They would only trade parts of their life which they have trouble handling but others don’t. But remember that everything you have figured out and everything you don’t have figured out defines you.
There is nothing more wholesome than the conversations between friends going from finishing homework to how to navigate the chaos and uncertainty in life. In the middle of these conversations, they gradually grow up together.
A healthy body is not the one that consumes less calories.
A healthy body is one that exercises but also takes time to rest.
A healthy body is one that doesn’t compromise on greens but also isn’t consumed by guilt for eating a bar of chocolate whenever it feels like.
Don’t let the internet define how you should look or feel.
Rest is a part of living. I am repeating this again because most days we forget that it is.
I firmly believe that you should live for yourself first. You should rush only when you feel like it’s the right time to rush. You should pause only when you feel like it is the season to pause. I know it is easier said than done. But try to live for yourself first.
I recently promised myself that I will try to avoid worrying about my past and my future every time I open my journal. My sole focus would be to embrace the present moment.
I think we should all have a safe space we can sneak into from time to time to escape the fast pace of life.
It could be a journal entry, company of a loved one or simply a moment of silence.
THIS WEEK’s RECOMMENDATIONS
