Absolutely beautiful piece Mansi! A whole heap of much needed wisdom. Another aspect of self care that I feel frequently goes under represented is taking care of your Inner child. We all have it, and we all desperately want it to come out. Surround yourself with people that dont make you feel bad about and let the kid be free. Do things that excite that part of you. Being an adult doesn’t have to be the depressing, linear lifestyle that we adopt after college.

Thank you Ahmedh! You have pointed out such a crucial thing that we all try to suppress as we grow up, simply because we don't have the time for the luxury of simple things as we grow up. But it's not true. Healing our inner child is so important and so rewarding✨

I loved this Mansi! I'm a huge fan of modes of self-care that don't involve participating in consumerism – often we already have more than enough to take care of ourselves without buying things we *think* we need.

Yess Leah!

I do make little purchases here and there which directly relate to taking care of myself but they are not expensive at all.

Like, one of the points that I mentioned in my journal is buying a time-based electric toothbrush. It's such a simple thing, but it allows me to start and end my day slow. And it's such a lovely feeling. Nothing about taking care of ourseleves should cost a fortune!♥️

Thank you🥹

I think writing this list healed me in so many ways. I finally reealised that I can and I am allowed to take care of myself in little ways along this journey.

Thank you for your support, I'd say you are my Substack bestie haha considering how much I love reading your posts and chatting about these little things✨

First, thank you so much for mentioning my last post here. I appreciate you 😊

Next, I love your list. My favorite was the one where instead of working right away, you read some newsletters and had a morning nap. That sounds so luxurious lol. I always read first thing. I'm up at 7, have a coffee while reading Substack. Then I go walk my doggo 🐶 Perfect mornings every day!

I love that!♥️

Unfortunately, I am unable to experience this luxury every day but I try to be intentional towards starting my days slow. It helps so much with my mood throughout the day!

100% outdoors and the ocean. I am lucky to live near the sea and every day I enjoy its' restorative power. Great list, thanks for writing it. I just subscribed.

Beautiful!! ✨

I sometimes wonder if the people who live close to the ocean start to take it for granted? Does that happen? It's a pattern I have noticed in so many people I've met (sometimes myself too) over the years, to take what they have for granted..

Thanks for subscribing though🌻

I received 2 puzzles for my birthday. It was great to spend almost all my free time making them. I felt like a little girl! Taking a break helps you reconnect with yourself.

I love that Francesca. It's so important to always keep your inner child alive, the world can be too much to handle sometimes. Also, shoutout to whoever gave you those puzzles! Love how intentional they are💕

It can be hard to push all the chaos of the day away to have a nice slow morning, but boy oh boy is it worth it!

Really enjoyed reading this, I have written a piece on the value of slowing down, taking a pause but it's great to see what others do with moments like these. Always very inspiring.

Would absolutely love to read your piece!

I think the best part about this community is that we can all come together and share our experiences on things we truly believe in, like resting and self care for instance. It’s amazing to be able to build that here on Substack ✨

I'm so happy to come across your newsletter floating here on Substack! It's a beautiful self-care list & very-well articulated <3 I would like to add spending time, conscious time with my grandparents to the list as well! They're sugar balls with so much loving kindness and wisdom, definitely can use some of it as a way to heal.

Rest can change in different seasons and I don't have to monetize every hobby YAAASSSSSSSSSSS. THANK YOU!! I feel like it's an obvious reminder but I think I was tripping up on those to things and the nudge was so welcoming. Redefining rest has been a weird one for me as I get a little older and don't bounce back as fast as I'd like (cough used to), and I love writing so I'll grow at my own pace (and stop getting freaked out by not engaging as much as I "should").

Oof.

Thanks! ❤️

I think at this point, there is a grave need for all of us to realise that taking care of ourselves is extremely crucial. And it’s all in the simple things that we unconsciously ignore in our day to day lives ✨

I love this list! Yesterday I shared “take 60 seconds to yourself” because self-care doesn’t need to be an hour of exercise, a 30 minute meditation, or include spending a bunch of money of wellness products. Simply taking 60 seconds to yourself to relax is just as good. And funny you mentioned the ocean because I included a video of the waves crashing on the sand to listen and relax to!

Hey Leanna! This is so amazing. I will surely participate and take 60 seconds out just for myself today! I’ll probably close my eyes and breathe. I think it’s going to be so helpful. Thank you🫂
