It’s the last day of 2024!
I can’t believe I am saying this. Usually, an entire year seems to fly real quick. But this time, I know it has been a while since this year started. How, you ask? I’d say because I was more present this year than in the previous years. When you are conscious enough to slow down and look around amidst the busyness of life, you are truly living.
At the beginning of my two weeks off from work, I wanted to spend my time with intention. Living an intentional life is all about balance. You exercise, but also be sure to nourish your body with food. Just like that, you work hard, but also be certain to rest.
For me, this time off came as a blessing. It opened doors for inviting creativity back into my life, reconnecting with old hobbies, and simply focusing on my overall well-being. That is exactly why breaks are important. As we step into the New Year, I hope we all can realise the value of taking restful (and frequent) breaks to rejuvenate ourselves because, let’s be honest, life can be challenging beyond our imagination sometimes.
Here’s what I did in the last week of 2024 instead of scrolling on my phone:
Finished reading two books: White Nights by Fyodor Dostoevsky and Man’s Search For Meaning by Victor Frankl. I was disappointed for not reading as much as I’d liked this year, but this was a good way to end the year.
Packed Christmas presents for my family on Christmas Eve while watching Christmas movies. For the first time this year, I celebrated Christmas with so much thought, and simply seeing the happy faces of my loved ones as they all sat next to the tree and opened the presents made me excited to do it all over again next year.
Spent time revising my investment plan for the next year.
Watched the rain pour down from my window. It intensified the already cold weather which I did not particularly enjoy but the stunning views made up for it.
Hosted a solo movie night for myself. (with pasta!)
Went on a picnic with my friend. I am a sucker for the winter sun and some vitamin D was exactly what I needed to embrace Twixtmas. (a term I learned from
’s latest newsletter.)Journaled about my year and set some intentions for the New Year. I am creating a vision board for the first time this year which has led me to step into 2025 with some clarity and excitement. I strongly recommend you to make one for yourself too!

A message for you,
Regardless of when you chose to join me on this wonderful journey (it could be now!), I am beyond grateful for your support. I have questioned if what I am doing on Substack makes sense many times, but I have never questioned why I am doing it - simply because of this wonderful community of readers who have made me feel safe, seen and heard.
So, thank you. I sincerely hope that you have a wonderful year ahead!
