Small wins are underrated. We often let big life goals overpower small wins in life. This week, my intention is to encourage you(and myself) to identify and acknowledge small wins that build meaningful habits.
Making your bed first thing in the morning
The first five waking moments of your day set the foundation for your peace of mind for the rest of the day. That’s why checking social media as soon as you wake up is never a good idea. Trust me, your brain does not want to be flooded with information as soon as you open your eyes.
Instead, spend this time making your bed. It allows you to start slow and peaceful, and you’ve already finished your first task of the day within the first five minutes of waking up.
Having an uninterrupted mealtime
You deserve some time off from all responsibilities lingering on your shoulders everyday. An uninterrupted mealtime will give you exactly that. You don’t have to think about pending work or to-do lists. The only thing you have to do is keep everything aside for a moment and focus on having a good meal.
Phone free hour
There’s a life outside of social media waiting for you to be lived. Cut down your screen time by an hour and use this time to focus on living. Step outside for walks. Catch up with friends over long lunches. Learn a new hobby. Go live a little.
Some other small wins you should strive for in the day-to-day:
Skincare before going to bed.
Stepping outside the house.
Consciously slowing down for 5 minutes at any time of the day to just breathe. The world will not fall apart if you take a moment of rest.
Trying out new things until you find what makes you happy.
Heading out for solo lunch every once in a while.
Write down your biggest lesson on a piece of paper every day. Over time, you will see how much you have grown.
What have your "small wins" been lately?
Very true
Agree totally 👍
