It is currently the last day of March, and I am sitting in my room at 1 am, finally getting the chance to write this week’s newsletter. That is how chaotic March was for me. Most times in life, you can sense the storm while it is still at the shore. And when that happens, the best you can do is prepare yourself for what's to come.
However, I have realised over the years that the maximum amount of growth in life happens when you are compelled to push your boundaries. You may not be able to notice it at the moment, but as things start to quieten, you will realise how essential it is for each one of us to step outside our comfort zone from time to time.
If chaos surrounds you at present,
I hope you know that just like the seasons change, this turmoil will fade too.
I hope you know that narrowing down your list of priorities to focus on getting through a shorter phase in life does not make you fall behind on the lesser prioritised parts.
I hope you always find make room to breathe amidst the chaos, especially when you feel like there is still a long way to go.
LESSONS FROM THE CHALLENGING PARTS OF MARCH
Ambition is an incredible thing to have. However, if at any point in time, it starts to suck the soul out of you, pause for a moment and think if it is truly worth pursuing. If the answer is a yes, craft a plan to blend it into your life with self-care.
Being ambitious might bring you money. But being ambitious while prioritising your well-being will certainly bring peace of mind.
Oftentimes, the only person to rush you to achieve your goals this instant is you. Others may be too busy chasing their own versions of success. In a world that often glorifies speed and rapid growth, consider defining your own pace.
LESSONS FROM THE UPLIFTING PARTS OF MARCH
A fifteen-minute walk, a midday shower, and a thirty-minute nap are all things that allow you to start over at any time during the day. You don’t have to wait for the sunrise or a new month/year to start fresh. Next time you feel overburdened, consider breaking that cycle by starting over right away.
I woke up to my first 500 subscribers this month. If there is anything this month has taught me, it is that taking the first step surely counts as winning half the battle, but in many ways, it is the start of another battle. A war where you have to show up consistently on the battlefield until you see some noticeable growth. Where you question yourself many more times than you believe in yourself. If you continue to show up for the things you believe in regardless of the fear of uncertainty, you are only moving closer to the point where the odds turn in your favour.
