Sometimes, I wake up in the morning, thinking about what my life would be like if I had made different choices. How many countries would I have visited? What would my days look like?
But the true question is, would I have wanted things to be any different?
Would you?
In an ideal world, we would like for things to go our way every time. But in a seemingly imperfect world, there are multiple paths (and multiple choices) that can lead you to your goal. So, instead of stressing about the choices you made, wondering if those were the right ones, notice where they lead you.
I hope you know that the choices you make are made to the best of your knowledge when you make them.
I hope you know that the choices you regret later are only known once you experience the outcome.
I hope you know that you will be fine, no matter the outcome.
August was the month of making some tough choices for me. As I wait to see where it leads me, here’s a list of things I learned this month;
Lessons from August
Every once in a while, go outside and stand barefoot on the grass. Not on something concrete, just grass. You will realise that this simple activity is enough to bring your soul back to the present moment.
A long stretch of ordinary days does not equate to wasted time. Not every day of your life needs to be an adventure. Chase adventure, but also embrace the ordinary. Your life will be much more fulfilling that way.
Don’t try to break old habits. Build new ones instead. When you slowly start moving towards the positives you need in your life, the negatives start to fade automatically.
Rigidity is the biggest enemy of creativity. When you chain yourself with to-do lists which occupy every single thought of your day, you leave no time for your mind to wander. Find time for your mind to just BE, and you will start to feel more like a human and less like a machine.
Next week, I will be taking a break from posting as I sit for my tenth Actuarial exam. But I couldn’t be more excited to show up the week after. Let this be your reminder that it’s okay to take breaks every once in a while, even from things you absolutely love doing!
See you on 17th! 💐
