Since the start of October, I have been feeling the most detached I have ever felt to myself in a long time. A self-inspection of my inner self reveals that this feeling is accompanied by a big transition in my life. I would describe this transition as a brief period (a temporary break) between identical seasons of life, so I can neither fully let go of the past nor prepare for what’s to come.
No matter how hard we try to resist it, there is no denying the fact that change is an inevitable part of our lives. No matter how much you try to run away from it, it follows you, sometimes in the most unexpected ways.
This season of transition is not new, but totally different from the last time and the time before it. This is because I stepped into it with an expectation to make the most of every second I have of my limited time. The desire to rest put pressure on me to optimise my rest time well. My mind was too rigid to understand that sometimes rest can mean “sit and do nothing”, and that’s okay.
If you tend to be rigid in seasons of transition like I do, this week’s newsletter is a reminder for you to invite freedom into your life through tiny little things.
Freedom from,
Being anxious about wanting to be a perfectionist.
Trying to fit in 30 hours worth of work in a 24-hour day.
The need to hold on to every memory from the past that might be left behind as time goes by.
Judging your imperfections.
The guilt that often accompanies when you try to live your life on your own terms.
Comparison.
The feeling that a tiny setback is the end of the world. (Remember, a rejection is always a redirection.)
The pressure to radiate positivity at all times.
The constant chatter in your head asking you to keep up.

May's books have been on my list for a while now! Thanks for another nice post here.
Great post. ‘Sit and do nothing’ is a powerful and effective way of recharging your batteries and come back stronger.
