How To 'Intentionally' Head Towards Your Desires
Looking at the small picture might be better for you in the long run.
Last month, I achieved something I had been eyeing for the last three years. It took me a whole month to process this information, but only a few hours to plan further steps towards the next target. The lack of intent on celebrating our accomplishments made me realise that perhaps life is more about living the journey and less about obsessing over achieving those goals.
You may be at a place where your goals seem far away. You may feel impatient and wish for time to rush so that you can see the final outcome. However, the direction that leads there may be unclear. Firstly, know that you are not alone. We are all in the same boat. We are all figuring it out.
Circumstances may not allow you to believe this, but the truth is that the life you are blessed to live today, the one which leads you to your destination, is more important than arriving at the destination itself. A simpler way to achieve your goals while also honouring the journey is to break down the bigger picture and focus on what’s in front right now. When you realise that the choices you make now are the only choices you have control over, your path will suddenly appear to be clearer, your motivation will increase and what was once a far-fetched dream, a huge mountain to climb, will suddenly seem achievable. Even for achieving a goal as big as climbing Mt. Everest, one has to touchdown on at least four base camps. In the same way, you have to hit several little milestones to be able to behold the view from the top of the mountain.
Make consistency your best friend. Embrace the challenge, observe the journey, make sure to pause and look around. When you finally reach your destination though, don’t forget to celebrate how far you’ve come. Your next step and next goal can wait a little longer!

Your analogy of climbing Mt. Everest and pausing at base camps is sooooo on point! It makes big dreams feel more approachable for sure!
Amazing read at the start of the day. Simply great. 🤗
The goal which seems unattainable at the start, and when we achieve that, instead of celebrating our achievements, we are busy to plan our next road ahead. I think we must slown down and be thankful for how long we have came out way through..
